On Saturday we fought the bad weather that is striking Italy by going to the lake where we found an amazing blue sky waiting for us. I took the chance to shoot some pics for my friend Alan’s brand “Bottega dell’Artigiano“, dedicated to soft, sweet, Made in Italy flat sandals. Just what we need for Spring and Summer. I’m still waiting for the analog pics, but here you have an hint of the mood and of the atmosphere. Model is my brother’s girlfriend Ale that I torture every time an idea like this one crosses my mind.

Thank you Ale and thanks to my brother for driving, assisting and being so patient with his crazy sister!

I’m not a backstage photographer but I really enjoy shooting some nice pics from behind the scendes once in a while. The Matthew Williamson show was the occasion to do it again and it felt good! The location was sublime, at the eighth level of a wonderful building, from the windows we could see St Paul’s Cathedral and the city skyline, so thrilling, and inside al the models were preparing for the show celebrating the 15 years of the brand that likes to do things in great style.

Some weeks ago, my friend Elena and I, shot a little Summer feature for Grazia.it based on white looks with colorful accessories. Useless to say we had a blast together and I have to say I really loved how the whole feature came out. Elena, who is one of Grazia.it it-girls and a great photographer (have a look at her blog Catching Instants), has this ability to choose wonderful clothes that fits her perfectly, and she likes to be perfect in every little detail: jewellery, belts, bags and shoes of course.
A joy to watch for us living and dying behind new and old trends.

I stole some pics with my analog camera whose  ISOs were definitly too high but, as usual, I like imperfections when it comes to analogic photography. Also I like the “ancient Milan” mood that the whole shooting suddenly inherits whith black&white prints. Hope you like it too.

Ale is wearing Lazzari bicolor dress in both styles: the pale pink silk with black details and the yellow mustard with brown details. I love them both, the yellow one, more edgy and cool to wear with Dr Martens boots and the pale pink one, more delicate, to match with heels for an evening out or with ballerinas and flats for the afternoon.

PS the cat name is Ellen and she was pretty bored to have us around all afternoon shooting while she was trying to sleep!

Happy Birthday Grazia.it!

 

Today Grazia.it turns one year old and to celebrate this great success, we asked our contributors to answer via video the question “if it wasn’t for Grazia.it I would have never…”?

Someone used iPhones, someone laptop cameras, someone more professional techniques, and this is why the result is so special and funny! I’m in there too, with my collegue Rossella, saying stupid things about fashion stuff, like how if it wasn’t for Grazia.it we would have never understood the fluo nailpolish and I wouldn’t have ever wore wedges, and first world problems like that.

I’m just so happy that we had the chance to arrive this far (I started working for the project in 2009, on a small table, on my MacBook with the best teacher I could ever ask for) and that we’re such a strong team now. Hope we can go on like this for a long time!
