A couple of weeks ago I had the extreme pleasure to be invited at Tamu McPherson‘s “Tamu’s Café” as special guest. I can’t tell you how honored I was since her guests are always so influent in the fashion world and her videos come out so professionally done and funny, and I was even happier when Tamu asked me to create four placemats inspiered by Haute Couture for our dinner table (also, the fact I could eat something delicious and healthy cooked by the Gnam Box guys was definetly a plus! I’m the worst cook in the world, believe me).
First we chose four brands, one for each placemat, and then I started thinking about frames inpired by Art Nouveau’s master Mucha, which meant a lot of flowers organized in a geometrical landscape with rounded corners. I wanted to keep the personality of the brands clear and separate from each other even if linked by the garden theme fil rouge. Once the frames were completed I chose one iconic look from each Haute Couture collection and included it on the left, leaving a big space for the plate on the right.
So, here you have the four illustrations that became real placemats at Tamu’s house and here you have the final video as well. I hope you’ll enjoy it as I had so much fun doing it!
